Job Description

Upstate Family Health Care Inc. is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) offering family health care services to individuals of all ages. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 8:00am - 6:00 pm We are committed to providing quality health care for everyone in order to build a healthier community. Upstate Family Health Center provides a comprehensive total compensation package including competitive compensation with a bonus package, a generous paid time off package, a benefits package including medical, dental, vision, FSA, HRA, Life Insurance, and 403(B) with lucrative company match. In addition, the clinic provides company paid malpractice insurance and paid continuing medical education, as well as a flexible schedule. We are currently accepting applications for a Pediatrician. Flexible schedule of Monday Friday, 8 AM 5 PM or four days of 10hour shifts, 8 AM 6 PM Fullspectrum case mix and diverse patient population Strong support staff including live virtual scribe Loan Repayment may be available through Federal and State programs
EMReCW Salary Range:
$220,000 $250,000 Strong signing bonus and retention bonus
New Residency Graduates Welcome Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, the Pediatrician is primarily responsible for providing comprehensive, high-quality primary care to infants, children, and adolescents in a community based Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) primary care clinic. participating in the multi-disciplinary process of providing care and treatment to patients. The Pediatrician provides the full scope of primary care services which fall under his/her field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to patients. The Pediatrician is additionally responsible for supporting clinical supervision (e.g. client oversight, case consultation, productivity reports, quality assurance) and support for medical services provided by the agency.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
Activities include but are not limited to the following: Delivers fullscope pediatric primary care, including wellchild visits, acute care, and chronic disease management. Where indicated, obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients; establish accurate diagnosis Perform clinical services to patients who present with illness or disease, including minor procedures (IUD placement, suture removal, wound care, etc.). Orders or executes various tests and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's condition. Reviews incoming reports (e.g. lab, xray, EKG) signs, dates and followsup in a timely manner. Inoculates and vaccinates patients to immunize patients from communicable diseases Provide or directly oversee services and procedures appropriate in the outpatient setting. Educate patients regarding health and illness prevention. Recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Administers or prescribes vaccines, treatments and medications, and instructs patients on proper utilization Refers patients to medical specialist for consultant services when necessary for patient's wellbeing Adhere to established clinical protocols and procedures. Maintain adequate and legible patient medical records in the established chart. Supervise or participate in and react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Fulfill HRSA and health center productivity standards, such as UDS. Follow established health center procedures for patient billing and reimbursement. Maintain professional competence by completing appropriate specialty requirements of CME. Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings and other clinical meetings Performs oncall duties as needed including responsibilities in the electronic health record and the afterhours telephone oncall. Acknowledges patient's rights on confidentiality issues, maintains patient confidentiality at all times, and follows HIPAA guidelines and regulations. Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations and certifications. Successful completion of UFHC credentialing and privileged review upon hire and recredentialing. Work with Integrative Health staff to provide collaborative care for patients Maintains self in a professional manner at all times, adhering to regulatory body guidelines, Upstate Family Health Center policy and procedures and in keeping with the Agency's mission statement, as well as professional Code of Ethics. Participate in supervision meetings, staff meetings, agencywide meetings, utilization review meetings, inservice training, and agency culture events. Complete all applicable licensing requirements and ethical standards including maintaining required CE hours.
Universal Duties:
Promote and maintain a safe working environment. Attends department meetings and any mandated continuing education/training programs. Comply with all pertinent regulatory and agency regulations and operating standards. Establish a work environment that creates positive communication between supervisors and employees and assimilates new employees to the Agency's culture, values and mission. Participate in activities as part of the team that may include meetings, trainings, and committees. Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Graduate of approved medical school with Board Certification. Unencumbered New York State License to practice medicine At least 3 years proven successful experience as a practicing clinician. Eligible to obtain and maintain a federal and state narcotic registration (DEA License). Strong community health/public health orientation, experienced in patient care management, and demonstrates managed health care knowledge and experience. Diagnoses and patient visit coding experience. Knowledge of or experience with healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record and practice management systems experience; EClinical Works preferred Experience in a multiple provider medical practice Strong commitment health professions ethics including principles of social justice, empowerment, and self-determination of individuals Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment, work primarily independently and self-directed, take initiative and use good judgement Intermediate PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Office 365)
