Job Summary:
We are seeking a board-certified Primary Care Physician to provide onsite medical care to patients in a correctional facility in Sheridan, OR up to one day per week. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on an underserved population while maintaining a flexible work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide onsite primary care services, including evaluation, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Perform physical examinations and assess patient health status. Review medical histories, laboratory results, and diagnostic reports. Develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans for conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, infections, and chronic illnesses. Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatment plans. Collaborate with on-site nursing staff and healthcare teams to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in compliance with HIPAA and facility regulations. Deliver preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient education.
Qualifications:
MD or DO with board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or a related primary care specialty. Active, unrestricted Oregon medical license (required). Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care. Strong communication skills and the ability to work with diverse patient populations. Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Experience with correctional healthcare is a plus but not required.
Requirements:
Ability to work onsite in Sheridan, OR. Compliance with all state and federal healthcare and correctional facility regulations. Availability for one half-day to one full day per week (flexible scheduling).
