General Summary Provides a wide range of preventive and acute health care services to individuals of all ages. Performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures.

Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:

Exercises autonomy in clinical decision-making Diagnoses and treats many common acute and chronic problems Prescribes and manages medications and other therapies Provides a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic health services Performs physical exams and health histories Orders and interprets laboratory tests and diagnostic studies Performs procedures as applicable to specialty Practices in collaboration with all members of the health care team and refers to other providers when necessary Engages in research, education, patient advocacy, and administrative activities Acts as an educator to mid-levels, nursing, and administrative staff within the office Dictates, reviews, and completes medical record upon completion of applicable visit or procedure Obtains necessary CME credits in order to maintain necessary state licensure Participates in monthly provider and staff meetings and other requested meetings Assigns appropriate CPT and ICD9 codes to office and inpatient visits Responds to messages and phone calls in a prompt and timely fashion

Participates in Medical Staff activities as required and/or as requested. Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff. Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required. Exposure Qualifications Minimum Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) Required or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)

Required Licenses:

Licensed Medical Physician and Surgeon Upon Hire Required or Licensed Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Upon Hire Required Courses and Training:

Boarded in appropriate specialty. Upon Hire Required and Completion of a residency.

Upon Hire Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Teaching skills. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Good phone skills. Excellent Customer Service. Organized, sets priorities, and able to multi-task.
