Hospitalist (Multiple Openings)
Job Description:
Provide primary care medical services in the hospital setting and treat adults 18 years and older who present themselves in the hospital; manage patients through the continuum of hospital care, seeing patients in the ER and following them through the acute care units including critical care unit and organizing post-acute care; examine, diagnose, and treat common health problems, as well as serious and chronic illnesses; prescribe or administer medication and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness and disease, as needed; analyze medical records and test results to diagnose medical conditions; request necessary treatments and tests, discuss test results and prescribe treatments with patients, and consult with specialty physicians where appropriate; monitor patients' condition and progress, and collect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results.
Requirements:
Must have M.D. or D.O. or foreign degree equivalent, have completed Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency training, and have valid New York and Pennsylvania medical licenses.
