Main Line Health Location:
Wynnewood, PA Main Line Health, a nationally recognized health system serving the western Philadelphia suburbs, is seeking a Board-Certified Trauma Surgeon to join our growing team at our Level II Trauma Center at Paoli Hospital. Position Summary The Trauma Physician provides direct clinical care to trauma, critical care, and acute care surgery patients at Main Line Health hospitals. The trauma surgeon is responsible for the evaluation and management of patients with trauma or acute general surgery needs in the emergency room and inpatient services. The Trauma Physician collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care in accordance with ACS and state trauma standards. Perform initial evaluation, resuscitation, operative and non-operative management, and ongoing care for trauma patients. Participate in the care of emergency general surgery and surgical critical care patients as assigned. Collaborate with trauma program leadership, nursing, APPs, and ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Participate in trauma activations, massive transfusion protocol, and multidisciplinary rounds. Document all patient care activities in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements. Participate in trauma performance improvement and patient safety (PIPS) activities, including case reviews and M&M conferences. Support trauma center verification and designation processes. Engage in education and training for residents, APPs, nurses, and other team members. Participate in community outreach and injury prevention initiatives as requested. Maintain current knowledge of trauma care guidelines, protocols, and best practices. Attend required meetings, educational sessions, and maintain all necessary certifications. Other duties as assigned by the Trauma Medical Director or hospital leadership. Education Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution. Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in General Surgery. Fellowship training in Surgical Critical Care or Trauma Surgery preferred. Licensure & Certification Unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license. Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery (and Surgical Critical Care if applicable). ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification required; instructor status preferred. Experience Minimum 2 years of recent trauma or acute care surgery experience preferred.
