SUMMARY OF POSITION
Under the direction of the department leadership, coordinates an effective medical staff peer review process for assigned region. The medical staff peer review supports medical staff reappointment, advancement, and clinical quality in compliance with Joint Commission ongoing physician performance evaluation (OPPE) and focused professional practice evaluation (FPPE) standards. This position supports the quality of nursing care through safe deliverance of standards of care and newly discovered evidence-based practices. Performs review of medical records as identified by preapproved clinical indicators based on established definitions for peer review for assigned populations and provides timely feedback to clinical management and physicians to ensure optimal quality patient care.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
(S): Bachelor's degree in Nursing Three (3) years of nursing experience Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact. AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
