  • Contract Header Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our dynamic mental health team.
In this vital role, you will provide expert psychiatric care to children and teenagers experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges. Your expertise will help improve the lives of young patients through comprehensive assessments, evidence-based treatments, and collaborative care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the developmental and emotional well-being of youth across outpatient, inpatient, and telehealth settings. Duties Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children and adolescents, utilizing medical records, patient histories, and clinical observations. Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, psychotherapy (including cognitive behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy), and behavioral health interventions. Manage medication regimens responsibly, monitoring for efficacy and side effects in accordance with best practices and HIPAA regulations. Provide crisis management services for acute psychiatric episodes, ensuring patient safety through intervention strategies tailored to developmental disabilities or trauma-related conditions such as PTSD. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care providers—to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Facilitate intake procedures for new patients, ensuring accurate medical documentation and adherence to confidentiality standards. Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to extend mental health services remotely, maintaining high-quality patient engagement and data collection. Maintain detailed medical records, documenting assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and follow-up care in compliance with medical terminology standards and legal requirements. Skills Extensive knowledge of pediatric psychiatry principles, including working with children with developmental disabilities and geriatrics when applicable. Proven experience in hospital settings—both inpatient and outpatient—and clinic environments managing behavioral health cases. Proficiency in psychotherapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and addiction counseling tailored for youth populations. Strong skills in crisis management, patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and psychopharmacology tailored for children and adolescents. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy; adept at handling sensitive medical documentation securely. Experience with telehealth technology platforms to deliver remote psychiatric care effectively. Ability to collect comprehensive data during intake sessions; skilled in medical records management using standardized terminology. Post-residency experience in psychiatry with a focus on mental health counseling for diverse pediatric populations is highly desirable.
