We are looking for a physician who is clinically strong, patient-centered, open-minded, and grounded in safe, evidence-informed medical decision-making. About Axis Medical Center Axis Medical Center is an established integrative medical clinic in Virginia Beach. Our team helps patients with chronic pain, joint degeneration, neuropathy, fatigue, metabolic dysfunction, inflammation, and complex health concerns. Our approach combines functional medicine, regenerative medicine, chiropractic care, advanced diagnostics, IV nutrient therapy, trigger point injections, rehabilitation strategies, and patient education. We are building a high-integrity model of care where patients receive thoughtful evaluation, clear education, and personalized treatment plans. Position Overview The physician will work collaboratively with our clinical team to evaluate complex patients, guide diagnostic workups, review labs, provide medical oversight, and help refine and develop functional medicine protocols. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling and the opportunity to grow as the program expands. Ideal Candidate We are looking for an MD or DO with interest in: Functional and integrative medicine Hormone and thyroid optimization Metabolic health and weight management Autoimmune and inflammatory conditions Chronic fatigue, brain fog, and complex symptom cases Gut health and chronic immune dysregulation Regenerative medicine and musculoskeletal care IV therapy safety and medical oversight Diagnostic escalation, imaging, and appropriate referrals Prior functional medicine experience or certification is helpful but not required . The right candidate is curious, careful, collaborative, and willing to help build a thoughtful clinical model. Responsibilities Perform medical evaluations for functional medicine and complex-care patients Review labs, imaging, and clinical histories Order appropriate diagnostic testing Identify red flags and coordinate referrals when needed Collaborate with APRN, chiropractic, case management, and regenerative medicine team members Provide oversight for medical protocols, IV therapy, and regenerative medicine services Participate in case-review discussions Help develop clinical pathways for thyroid, hormones, metabolic health, inflammation, chronic fatigue, and complex cases Support a concierge-level patient experience Requirements Active Virginia MD or DO license Board certification or board eligibility preferred Strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills Interest in functional, integrative, or regenerative medicine Comfortable working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment Excellent communication skills Conservative, safety-minded approach to complex care Willingness to help build protocols and systems Schedule Part-time to start.
