Locums About the Facility This inpatient facility operates a consult-only neurological service supported by one physician and one APP each day. The facility employs telestroke coverage through an external group for overnight stroke management, which contributes to manageable call volume. The schedule structure of 12 hours on-site followed by 12 hours of call provides a defined coverage framework. The facility maintains established protocols to support neurological consultations across stroke, seizure, and related conditions. About the Facility Location Charleston, SC offers a perfect blend of historic charm and coastal relaxation. Key activities include strolling Historic Downtown Charleston, lounging on nearby beaches like Folly Beach, taking a scenic harbor tour to Fort Sumter, and wandering through vibrant spots like the Charleston City Market. About the Clinicians Workday The neurologist will provide inpatient consult-only services during 12-hour on-site shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, followed by 12 hours of call coverage from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Consults include stroke, seizure, EEG interpretation and reading, and other neurological conditions. Clinicians will supervise the APP assigned to the service each day. Tele-neuro coverage through an outside group manages initial strokes overnight, resulting in generally quiet call. Board certification in Neurology is required for this position. The average daily census is approximately 20 patients.
