Job Description
Job description Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (LHMC), a nationally recognized tertiary academic medical center and home to the UMass Chan-Lahey Regional Medical School Campus, seeks an accomplished physician leader to serve as Division Chair of Vascular Surgery. This highly visible role will shape the strategic direction, clinical excellence, and continued growth of a premier vascular program featuring a state-of-the-art Endovascular OR Suite and full-service Vascular Lab. The Divisional Chair will lead clinical innovation, research, education, and operational performance while advancing quality, faculty development, and exceptional patient-centered vascular care aligned with LHMC's academic and regional mission. Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Lead a high-quality vascular surgery division with a strong focus on clinical excellence, innovation, and academic engagement.
- Oversee delivery of superior patient outcomes, safety, access, and experience in both open and endovascular procedures.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor faculty and trainees; cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
- Guide operational performance, including resource planning, workflow optimization, staffing, and budget management.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and strong clinical standards across the division.
- Support and expand research, scholarly activity, and educational programs within the division and across LHMC.
- Collaborate across surgical and medical specialties, administrative leaders, and system partners to advance integrated vascular care and support LHMC's strategic goals. Required Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. (or international equivalent), board certified/ board eligible Vascular Surgeon, and eligibility for a Massachusetts license.
- A minimum of 5 years of medical practice with demonstrated leadership qualities and evidence of leading initiatives with significant impact.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and strategic leadership skills.
