Excellent Hourly Rate 1099 Contract She Recruits is partnering with a federal contractor to identify a Psychologist (PhD/PsyD) or Psychiatrist to conduct Compensation & Pension (C&P) behavioral health exams for our nation s Veterans in Augusta, Georgia. This is a structured, evaluation-only role supporting the Veterans Benefits Administration. If you are seeking meaningful, mission-driven work without ongoing therapy panels, medication management, or call, this opportunity offers a focused clinical model with predictable weekday hours. About the Role In this position, you will perform comprehensive, one-time behavioral health evaluations to assist the VA in determining disability claims.
You will not:
Assign disability ratings Develop treatment plans Prescribe medications Provide ongoing psychotherapy Your role is to objectively assess and document findings. Final disability determinations are made by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Clinical Scope Behavioral health exams are scheduled for 90+ minutes to allow for comprehensive evaluation of conditions such as: PTSD Depression Anxiety disorders Eating disorders You will: Review Veterans medical and mental health history prior to the appointment Conduct structured, face-to-face evaluations Complete electronic Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) Submit documentation within 48 hours Documentation is completed through a guided web-based Provider Portal. Dedicated administrative time is built into the schedule for dictation and documentation to preserve interview flow and clinical integrity. All documentation is reviewed for compliance and clarity before submission to the VA. Structure & Environment Full-time, Monday Friday schedule Face-to-face evaluations at a dedicated facility High Veteran population and consistent volume Structured exam templates Administrative support and compliance review Qualifications PhD or PsyD from an APA-accredited doctoral program
OR MD/DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry Active, unrestricted South Carolina license Ability to work independently Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills Basic computer proficiency VA or C&P experience preferred but not required. Module training is provided.
