Job Description

A highly respected regional healthcare system in Spartanburg, South Carolina is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neonatologist to join a collaborative Level
III NICU
team providing advanced neonatal care in a thriving, family-friendly community near the Blue Ridge Mountains. This permanent, full-time opportunity offers a balance of high-acuity clinical practice, academic involvement, multidisciplinary support, and strong physician wellness initiatives within a well-resourced regional referral center.
Dates / Schedule
Permanent, full-time position Rotating service coverage within a 4-physician neonatology team Every-other-night call schedule during service weeks Two weeks per month of well-baby rounding responsibilities 24/7 Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) support coverage Requires local residency within the Spartanburg area; relocation may be required Accepting candidates currently completing Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship training and board-eligible candidates Not accepting locum candidates Not accepting visa candidates Job Details / Responsibilities Lead and provide neonatal care in a 35-bed Level
III NICU
Manage a high-acuity neonatal population with: Average daily census of infants Approximately NICU admissions annually Approximately 3,400 3,900 deliveries per year Deliver advanced neonatal interventions including: High-frequency ventilation Therapeutic hypothermia Participate in well-baby rounding alongside the Family Medicine Residency Program Collaborate with: 4 Neonatologists 24/7 NNP coverage Pediatric subspecialists including Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery, Ophthalmology, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine Provide family-centered neonatal care in a collaborative healthcare environment Support academic and clinical leadership initiatives within the NICU Work within a regional referral center offering strong multidisciplinary resources Required Skills & Qualifications Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine South Carolina medical license or willingness to obtain strongly preferred Completion of Neonatology fellowship training required Neonatology experience required; experienced candidates preferred Clean malpractice and license history strongly preferred DEA required prior to start date NPDB Self-Query report within 30 days required at presentation Must specify whether visa sponsorship is required (J1/H1B), though visa candidates are not being accepted
