Not specified Locum tenens opportunity in Floresville, TX covering an acute care hospital ED. Coverage begins September 14, 2026 for 13 weeks with potential extension (3 months to 1 year).
Shifts:
7:00 AM-7:00 PM and 7:00 PM-7:00 AM. Clinical-only assignment. Clinical scope Adult and pediatric emergency patients; general EM case mix. ED census ~31 patients/day; annual volume ~11,000 visits (22% pediatric). Admission rate 6.9%; transfer rate 6.1%; average productivity 1.2 patients/hour.
Required procedures:
standard emergency medicine procedures. Facility highlights 10 ED beds, 44 total hospital beds. Trauma Level IV.
EMR:
Meditech.
Specialty backup:
hospitalist, general surgery, gastroenterology, cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry. Credentials & requirements Active Texas medical license or active IMLC eligibility. ABEM board certified required.
ACLS, ATLS, PALS
required if not BC/EM. Emergency department experience required. Texas candidates preferred for locum coverage. Interest in locums-to-perm or permanent opportunities strongly desired. Hospital privileges required. Compensation & logistics
Rate:
TBD. Travel, lodging and malpractice insurance provided. Key responsibilities Provide full ED physician coverage: evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and critical patients. Coordinate care with consultants and arrange transfers as needed. Document patient encounters in Meditech and deliver evidence-based emergency care.
