Correctional Mental HealthLocations:
Cleveland, TX | Richmond, TX |
Rusk, TXSchedule:
Monday–Friday | Day Shift | 40 hours/week

Up to $300,000 annuallyAbout the RoleThis position offers the opportunity to provide meaningful inpatient psychiatric care to underserved populations within a secure correctional setting.

Physicians work in a structured, team-based environment focused on high-quality care, clinical autonomy, and long-term stability.

This role is ideal for psychiatrists seeking a predictable schedule, strong institutional support, and the ability to focus on patient care without productivity pressures.

There are currentlythree active opportunities availableacross Texas inCleveland, Richmond, and Rusk.

What You'll DoProvide direct inpatient psychiatric care to assigned patients.

Perform psychiatric, physical, and neurological evaluations.

Manage psychotropic medications and treatment plans.

Participate in involuntary treatment, civil commitment, and due-process proceedings when required.

Supervise and collaborate with psychiatric mid-level providers.

Provide shared, after-hours on-call coverage (handled entirely from home).Participate in quality improvement and utilization review activities.

Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation.

Work EnvironmentSecure correctional or detention facility.

Structured, safety-focused setting with established protocols.

Security clearance and pre-employment drug screening required.

Personal cell phones are not permitted on-site for institutional security.

Required QualificationsMD or DO with a current Texas medical license.

Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry.

Active DEA registration.

Preferred QualificationsTwo (2) or more years of psychiatric experience.

Experience with electronic medical records and utilization processes.
