Part-Time Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Urgent Care Physician to join our growing team in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, treating a broad range of acute illnesses and injuries for patients of all ages. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who thrives in an urgent care setting and enjoys working collaboratively with a skilled medical team.
Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illnesses and minor injuries. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests (lab, imaging, EKGs, etc.). Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, abscess drainage, and wound care. Prescribe appropriate medications and counsel patients on treatment plans and follow-up care. Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and support staff to deliver efficient and compassionate care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with all clinical protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Provide referrals for patients requiring ongoing specialty care or emergency services when appropriate.
Qualifications:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine. Current, unrestricted Texas medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start). DEA license and current
BLS/ACLS
certification. Previous urgent care or emergency medicine experience preferred, but not required. Strong clinical, communication, and decision-making skills.
