Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Rheumatology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dedicated healthcare team. In this role, you will provide specialized care for patients with rheumatologic conditions, including autoimmune diseases, arthritis, and connective tissue disorders. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through comprehensive assessments, innovative treatment plans, and collaborative care. Duties Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and vital signs assessments. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans for patients with rheumatologic conditions, utilizing current evidence-based practices. Manage medication administration, including immunosuppressants and biologics, ensuring patient safety and adherence. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as eClinicalWorks to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently. Educate patients on disease processes, medication use, lifestyle modifications, and self-care strategies to promote optimal health outcomes. Assist in clinical research initiatives related to rheumatology to support ongoing advancements in treatment options. Qualifications Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with certification in relevant specialties. Experience working with rheumatologic conditions is highly preferred; familiarity with autoimmune diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis is a plus. Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems; telehealth experience is advantageous. Knowledge of advanced procedures including joint injections, dermal fillers, and IV infusions. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10), and medication management protocols. Critical care experience or hospital medicine background is desirable; experience in outpatient clinics or specialty practices is beneficial. Excellent patient assessment skills with the ability to triage effectively in urgent situations.
