The PA evaluates patients, develops treatment plans, performs clinical procedures within their scope of practice, and assists in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with and perform approved interventional radiology procedures. Joint injections, and spinal procedures, thoracentesis, paracentesis, PICCs, port placement, chest tube placement. Manage inpatient and outpatient consultations. Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with physicians. Provide pre-procedure education and obtain informed consent when appropriate. Monitor patients during recovery and coordinate post-procedure care. Document patient encounters accurately in the EMR. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current PA licensure and certification. DEA registration and prescriptive authority as required by state regulations. Experience in interventional radiology, surgery, critical care, emergency medicine, or a related specialty preferred. Strong clinical, procedural, and communication skills.
