MD Anderson Mays Cancer Center Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology & Oncology Hematologist, Open Rank The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine and the UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Hematologist for a faculty position with a focus in benign (classical) hematology. The successful candidate would join a thriving multidisciplinary Hematology practice and be able to leverage world class scientific collaborations, hemato-pathology and blood bank support, and robust infrastructure for clinical trials. We expect that this individual will hold an academic appointment in the Department of Medicine. The candidate will report to the Chief of Hematology & Medical Oncology and be expected to have administrative, clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities in the Hematology Clinics at the Mays Cancer Center, one of the nation's NCI-Designated Cancer Centers with over a 40-year tradition of excellence in the development of new cancer therapies, understanding cancer biology, and decreasing the burden of cancer in San Antonio and South Texas. Subspecialty experience/expertise in the management of blood disorders is required, and an interest in clinical research is preferred. The ideal candidate will be expected to contribute to the clinical, research, and teach students, residents, and fellows in our multidisciplinary practice. This is an opportunity to build a specialized practice in classical hematology. Candidates should hold an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. preferably completing classical hematology-focused fellowship training and be board certified/eligible in Hematology and eligible for licensure by the Texas Medical Board. The Hematology program at the Mays Cancer Center has a long and distinguished history in the care of complex blood disorders and early-phase drug development.
