Family Support Practitioner - UT Raise the Future - 4.2 Midvale, UT Job Details Part-time $20 - $25 an hour 20 hours ago Benefits Mileage reimbursement Qualifications Behavioral observation Trauma-sensitive practices Client rapport building Working with children Bachelor's degree Working with families Training delivery Full Job Description What You Will Be Doing Under general direction, and working within a designated service region, Family Support Practitioners deliver TBRI® Caregiver Training classes and in-home coaching services for families and facilitate monthly Implementation and Connection Groups to support implementation of the TBRI® model, offering opportunities for participants to practice tools, discuss challenges, and build networks amongst families. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide in-home coaching to caregivers who have completed TBRI® training. Each visit will involve observation, hands-on guidance, feedback, goal setting, and action planning. The number of visits and hours involved will vary based on each family's needs (weekends and/or evenings required). Conduct outreach to previously contacted and uncontacted post-adoptive families to inform them of available post-adopt services, provide resources, and encourage engagement in supportive programming. Provide transition support to youth and families who are matched, helping to strengthen connection, prepare for permanency, and support adjustment throughout the transition process. Plan and facilitate Implementation and Connection Groups for families to provide ongoing support, learning opportunities, and natural points of connection for families to develop support networks with other families who have a mutual understanding of their children's needs and behaviors. Facilitate Making Sense of Your Worth cohorts for youth and adults, including curriculum delivery, discussion facilitation, engagement activities, and support related to identity, connection, and permanency. Travel to meetings, visits, groups, events, or trainings with families, professionals, and in the community as assigned; mileage reimbursement is provided by Raise the Future. Support internal communication about the program, conduct data entry, attend meetings, submit required reports, and perform other administrative tasks as needed. Adhere to program and agency protocol and structure. Submit documentation in adherence with prescribed timelines. Deliver the TBRI® Caregiver Training, as requested Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in a social work, psychology, human development, or human services related field Demonstrated understanding of complex developmental trauma, trauma-associated behavioral and developmental delays, and challenges related to permanency achieved through guardianship or adoption Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed Two or more years of experience in adoption, child welfare or equivalent Excellent observational and assessment skills Demonstrate the ability to train others Demonstrated ability to effectively build rapport with families and youth Demonstrate effective organization skills and proactive thinking Demonstrate diplomacy and networking skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work autonomously, as needed Travel and some evening or weekend work required; must have dependable transportation and be insurable as a driver on the auto liability policy of Raise the Future (mileage to be reimbursed by Raise the Future). Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Development, or Human Services-related field Accredited through TCU Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development as a TBRI® Practitioner 5 or more years of postgraduate experience working with children and families Bilingual (Spanish) preferred Adoptive Parent Located in the region where services are to be delivered Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Once trained, demonstrated capacity to implement TBRI® principles and tools professionally or in a direct caregiving capacity. Excellent observational and assessment skills. Demonstrated effective organization skills and proactive thinking. Demonstrated diplomacy and networking skills. Ability to work autonomously as needed. Demonstrated ability to effectively build rapport with families and children. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated knowledge of trauma and the impact of trauma on child development, behaviors, and attachment. Demonstrated knowledge of adoption issues and challenges. Understanding of the child welfare system. Ability to demonstrate cultural humility. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, ZOOM. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements This position works primarily in a typical office environment, mostly indoor office environment with windows, with office equipment noise and may include frequent interruptions. This position also may be required to meeting with clients, and stakeholders in other settings outside the office. Considerable time is spent sitting at a desk using a computer terminal, and telephone, and attending meetings with others. The hiring range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 / hour Actual hiring range may vary based on qualifications and geographic location.
