The University of Virginia is hiring Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologists. Must have completed Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship and be ABA Certified or Board Eligible. Duties include clinical care; medical supervision of residents and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA); teaching fellows, residents, and medical students; and research (if interested). The department offers competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and a generous retirement plan. Administrative time is available for academic, research, and/or administrative projects.
Job Description:
The University of Virginia has a robust Pediatric Cardiac Surgery program, ranking in the top 50 programs nationally. We average 200 pump cases per year, over 400 cath cases, as well as pediatric EP. We have an excellent transplant and VAD program and a growing Adult Congenital Heart Disease program. We have also partnered with hospitals in Richmond and Norfolk to create the Virginia Cardiac Consortium to care for children all over the state. The Pediatric Anesthesia division does over 7000 pediatric cases per year at our main hospital and outpatient surgery centers. We are continuing to grow our dedicated cardiac team and are looking for hardworking and enthusiastic physicians to join us in Charlottesville. UVA Anesthesia offers plenty of opportunities for faculty development, leadership and research. We are conveniently located a short drive from Richmond and Washington, D.C.
