The practice serves adult and geriatric populations with a clinical focus of 70% oncology and 30% hematology, excluding internal medicine responsibilities. Coordinated care across clinical and support teams is in place to promote quality patient outcomes. About the Facility Location Virginia offers a range of experiences suited to varied interests, from historic sites and natural attractions to family-oriented venues and leisure activities. Clinicians on assignment may explore regional destinations such as Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, and Luray Caverns, or participate in outdoor activities including wildlife encounters and dolphin kayak tours. The state also features wineries, vineyards, and interactive centers, providing accessible options for recreation throughout the duration of an assignment. About the Clinician's Workday The hematologist/oncologist will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient hematology and oncology coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no weekend or call obligations. The case mix is approximately 70% oncology and 30% hematology, serving an adult and geriatric patient population; internal medicine cases are not included in this assignment. Clinical responsibilities include conducting patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and managing hematologic and oncologic conditions across both inpatient and outpatient settings. Board certification in Medical Oncology is required for this position.
