N/A We're seeking a Hematology & Oncology physician to provide locum tenens coverage in Mechanicsville, Virginia — supporting both inpatient and outpatient services on an ongoing basis starting ASAP. You'll work Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, covering clinical duties only. Travel, lodging, and malpractice are provided. What you'll be doing Provide comprehensive care for adult and geriatric patients in clinic and the hospital. Manage a typical caseload that's about 70% oncology and 30% hematology. Round on hospital patients (average 2-8 patients/day). Document and place orders using Epic. Facility and support
Location:
Mechanicsville, VA.
Service setting:
inpatient and outpatient at a Level III trauma facility.
Average daily volumes:
outpatient 12-25 patients; hospital 2-8 patients.
Current on-site clinical team:
one other physician; no APP support. Epic is the EMR. Privileges, credentialing, and coverage Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges are available. Temporary credentialing can be completed in 3-14 days; permanent credentialing typically 2-3 months. Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided by the staffing arrangement. Qualifications Board Certified in Medical Oncology required; Hematology board certification highly preferred. Active Virginia medical license required. BLS certification required. COI coverage of $2.6M/$7.8M required if requested by the facility (per VA statute limitations). Reason for coverage Filling an open physician position with locum tenens coverage.
