Job Description

The Department of Psychiatry and Neurobehavioral Sciences seeks a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join their Child and Adolescent Psychiatry interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and nurses. The
LCSW/LPC
embedded in the child psychiatry outpatient clinic will provide specialized, evidence-based psychotherapy services to address complex emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. Working alongside child psychiatrists and nurse practitioners, this
LCSW/LPC
will provide individual and group therapy, family interventions, and behavioral management strategies to support the needs of this patient population. Hybrid model with ambulatory and virtual therapy visits.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of post-licensure clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families
  • Experience working with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Demonstrated comfort with evidence-based interventions and skills Background checks and pre-employment health screenings will be conducted on all new hires prior to employment. All safety-sensitive positions with direct patient interaction also require a drug screen. 1) Administration
  • Documents patient care in accordance with UVA University Medical Center policies and regulatory requirements
  • Facilitates staff development, in-service training, and educational opportunities to support professional growth and evidence-based practice 2) Professional
  • Participates in treatment planning, care coordination, and advocates for patient preferences within the interdisciplinary team 3) Clinical
  • Completes biopsychosocial assessments, diagnosis, and development of culturally-competent individualized treatment plans for patients
  • Provides specialized mental health support to address the presenting concerns of this patient population
  • Addresses mental health conditions, provides crisis intervention, and assists with navigating systems 4) Leadership
  • Provides clinical supervision, and trains new staff, students, and interns as assigned
  • Assists with treatment program development
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program required
Experience:
3 years' experience post master's required.
Licensure:
Licensed to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia (LCSW) or applicants with an active license from another state must obtain Virginia LCSW within 18 months of hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires sitting for prolonged periods, standing/traveling or use of assistive and climbing (stairs, steps). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail, hear, speak, see, distinguish colors, read, ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The starting base rate for this role is $63,939.20 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
