Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care Physician Children's Specialty Group Norfolk, VA Job Details Full-time 6 hours ago Qualifications Pain medicine BC/BE Palliative care experience (work setting) Full Job Description Join a compassionate and innovative team dedicated to improving the lives of children living with serious illness and complex pain conditions. We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Palliative Care Physician to provide expert care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role is ideal for a physician with a strong interest in acute and chronic pain management, who is passionate about delivering holistic, family-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive pain management and palliative care consultations for pediatric patients across a range of diagnoses, in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including PICU, Hospital Medicine, NICU, PM&R, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, and the Fetal Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Participate in the development and implementation of individualized pain treatment plans. Support patients and families in goals of care conversations, complex decision-making and symptom management. Engage in teaching opportunities with residents, fellows, and medical students. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives in pediatric pain management and palliative care.
Qualifications:
MD or DO with board certification/eligibility in Pediatric Hospice and Palliative Medicine Experience or strong interest in pediatric pain management. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
