JOB REQUIREMENTS
Board:
ABEM, AOBEM, or ABMS (FM/IM/EM)
Licenses:
Active unrestricted VA Medical License; DEA with VA address
DEA / CDS
Active DEA with VA address (Schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5)
Certifications:
ACLS, ATLS, PALS
(if not BC in EM); NRP for non-ABEM providers
Experience:
New graduates (EM residency within past 12 months) acceptable with 3-month proctorship
Other Qualifications:
Case logs (last 2 years), CME (Preeclampsia), immunizations (MMR, Varicella, TB, Flu)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide emergency medical care to patients of all ages in a 12-hour shift model Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants during mid-level coverage Perform necessary emergency procedures and interventions consistent with EM practice Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the Epic EMR system Maintain required certifications and participate in quality improvement activities
