General/Adult Psychiatry Job in Morgantown, West Virginia

We're seeking a board-certified psychiatrist to cover a maternity leave in Morgantown, WV, starting August 3, 2026 and continuing on an ongoing basis. This is a hospital-based locum tenens opportunity focused on general adult psychiatry with a Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM clinical schedule. What you'll be doing Provide comprehensive adult psychiatric care on an inpatient unit (roughly 25 beds). Perform psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy follow-up visits. Round on patients daily and evaluate/monitor clinical progress. Document thoroughly in Cerner EMR and participate in multidisciplinary care planning with behavioral health teams. Handle a typical caseload of about 11-16 patients per day; admissions and phone consult volume are to be determined. Position details

Setting:

Hospital-based behavioral health unit.

Shift:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM.

Patient population:

Adults; case mix includes medication checks, medication checks with therapy, and general adult psychiatry.

Facility and support Unit size:

25 beds.

EMR:

Cerner. You'll have access to standard psychiatric clinical equipment and multidisciplinary behavioral health teams for specialty backup. Additional support staff details to be confirmed. Requirements & credentials Board Certification in Psychiatry required. Active West Virginia medical license preferred, or willingness to obtain one (IMLC preferred or providers eligible for a WV temporary license). Minimum of 1 year of psychiatry experience. Hospital privileges are required; temporary privileges and credentialing timeline are expected to take about 60 days. DEA and other certifications to be determined. Compensation & logistics
