Seeking a full-time AP/CP boarded (Board eligible if less than 5 years from completion of residency) pathologist to join our medical staff. Hospital has 200 acute care beds and 65 behavioral health beds. The pathology practice is hospital based and proficiency in all aspects of general pathology is required, including frozen sections, FNA's, gastroenterology, and prostate pathology. We have an active cancer program and regular participation in tumor boards is required. We provide a friendly, collaborative, and team-oriented environment. We are looking for a pathologist with solid interpersonal skills, flexibility, and initiative. Salary would reflect experience and skill sets. We offer a special quality of life for families and an ideal location for business and industry. Mercer County lies approximately 100 miles from the State Capitol, the city of Charleston. Charlotte NC is 2 hours south on I-77; Roanoke is 89 miles to the east and Virginia Tech is 40 miles east in the vibrant Blacksburg/Christiansburg area. The area is a Mecca for outdoor sports which include hiking, camping, white water rafting, fishing, snow skiing etc. It is a part of the Bluefield, WV-VA metropolitan area and currently has a population of approximately 110,000. The city is also home for the Princeton Rays baseball team of the Appalachian League. They are presently affiliated with the Tampa Bay Rays.
