Provides primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.Job Description:
MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Podiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Podiatry Service team. This full-time role encompasses both clinical and surgical responsibilities, working in both Augusta and Waterville, Maine.Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive foot and ankle care to patients in a clinical setting, independently managing a wide range of podiatric conditions.
- Assist surgical podiatrists in the operating room.
- Manage a robust patient population and referral base, with a daily patient load of 15-20 patients.
- Collaborate with a team of two podiatrist, a nurse practitioner, two certified foot care nurses and support staff.
- Participate in the rotation of care for patients in our three long-term care facilities.
Work Schedule:
- 36 hours of clinical work per week.
- 4 hours of administrative work per week.
Ideal Candidate:
- A motivated and skilled NP who is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to manage a high volume of patients efficiently.
- Experienced in both clinical and surgical podiatry.
