Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Embark on a fulfilling opportunity supporting students' growth as a School Psychologist in a contract role for extended school year (ESY) services during the summer months. Located near Bessemer, AL, this assignment allows you to make a meaningful impact from June 15th to July 30th, 2026, focusing on compensatory services within a supportive educational environment. The primary schedule runs from 7:45 AM until 2:00 PM, with overall weekly hours tailored to meet specific student needs. Note that this assignment operates fully on-site; remote or virtual services are not available, and travel is not required.
Essential Qualifications:
Active and valid Alabama School Psychologist license required Previous experience in school-based settings highly preferred Strong assessment, consultation, and report-writing skills Passion for advocacy and service delivery aligned to student IEPs and needs Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and diverse student populations Adaptability to changing caseloads and service requirements based on compensatory needs
Key Responsibilities:
Provide psychoeducational assessments and re-evaluations as assigned Consult with educators and administrators on student supports, interventions, and progress monitoring Document services and write clear evaluation and eligibility reports Participate in IEP meetings and support compliance with federal and state regulations Offer insight and recommendations for student success and well-being during the ESY term Enjoy the convenience of a predictable daytime schedule and the chance to work with a dedicated network of professionals.
