Job Description
Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Make a difference this summer by supporting students as a dedicated School Psychologist for the Extended School Year (ESY) session. This contract opportunity focuses on providing compensatory services from June 15th through July 30th, 2026. Serve a diverse student population and use your expertise to foster positive educational outcomes while experiencing the reward of meaningful impact.
Key qualifications and experience:
Active and valid School Psychologist license for the state of Alabama (AL). Proven experience delivering school-based psychological services, such as IEP evaluations, behavior interventions, and crisis management. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Comprehensive knowledge of assessment tools, eligibility criteria, and individualized education planning. Demonstrated commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality. Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic school environment. ESY assignment requires in-person participation; remote or virtual work is not available for this role.Core responsibilities:
Conduct individual evaluations for students needing compensatory services as directed by IEP teams. Compile thorough assessments and written reports within predetermined timelines. Consult with teachers, special education staff, and parents regarding student progress and behavioral strategies. Participate actively in eligibility and IEP meetings. Recommend evidence-based interventions to support students' academic, social, and emotional needs. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing special education services.
