Job Description

Coconino County Education Service Agency (CCESA) is seeking three (3) School Psychologist Interns for the 2026-2027 school year as part of the NARRI School Psychology Internship Program. This is a full-time, 191-day internship position aligned to National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) training standards and Northern Arizona University (NAU) internship requirements. The intern will work under the supervision of a credentialed School Psychologist and in partnership with CCESA and NAU faculty. This internship is designed as a developmental training experience to prepare preservice school psychologists for competent, independent professional practice. Under supervision, the intern will engage in psychoeducational assessment, consultation, counseling, intervention planning, and systems-level practices to support PK-12 students across participating rural districts. This position is grant funded by the Northern Arizona Recruitment and Retention Initiative and contingent upon continued funding and satisfactory academic standing at the intern's graduate university.
Please note:
In addition to the hourly pay, intern will receive up to an additional $5,500 to assist with housing and living expenses. This is a temporary internship with an end date of June 30, 2027. Internship Learning Expectations By completion of the internship year, candidates will demonstrate competency across NASP domains through supervised applied practice, including: Comprehensive assessment and professional report writing Consultation and collaboration Academic and behavioral intervention design and evaluation Counseling services Systems-level and school-wide practices Culturally responsive and ethical practice Integration of research, theory, and professional judgment Interns must complete all university-required deliverables, including but not limited to: Two psychoeducational reports (Fall and Spring) FBA/BIP case study Counseling summary Consultation summary Academic intervention case study School-wide practices summary Culturally responsive program evaluation Case conceptualization presentation Monthly internship logs documenting 1200 hours CEFE and Professional Dispositions evaluations Submission of Praxis results Supervision Structure Consistent with NASP supervision standards: Interns receive a minimum of two hours per week of individual, face-to-face supervision from a credentialed School Psychologist. Interns follow all university course requirements related to the internship and maintain satisfactory academic standing. Supervisors maintain professional responsibility for intern work, including review and co-signature of reports. Supervision includes case planning, assessment review, intervention planning, direct observation, and formative feedback. (Illustrative Only - Under Supervision of a Credentialed School Psychologist) Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations including test administration, scoring, interpretation, and report writing Participate in and, with support, facilitate eligibility determination and/or IEP meetings Assist in planning and conducting initial and triennial evaluations Review records and determine appropriate assessment batteries for suspected disabilities Design and implement academic and behavioral interventions Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and assist in development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) Provide individual and group counseling services using evidence-based practices Engage in consultation with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Participate in Intervention Team and MTSS meetings Support school-wide practices that promote academic success and behavioral health Use data-based decision making to guide recommendations and evaluate intervention effectiveness Complete required documentation within timelines consistent with IDEA and Arizona regulations Maintain accurate and confidential records Travel between assigned school sites as needed Participate in university required internship seminars and supervision meetings Perform related duties as assigned by supervising psychologist or program leadership Enrollment in an Ed.

S. or equivalent School Psychology graduate program Eligible for School Psychology Internship through completion of required coursework and training Approved by university internship coordinator Commitment to meeting NASP internship standards Additional Requirement(s): Must obtain and maintain an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card Must obtain and maintain professional liability insurance Must obtain and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license Ability to travel between assigned school sites Completion of Praxis exam during internship year Employment contingent upon university agreement and good standing
