Job Description

This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in behavioral health within a correctional and detention setting, providing essential mental health services to diverse populations. Starting on 07/01/2026, with a duration of 26 weeks and the possibility of extension, you will work 8 or 10-hour day shifts, contributing to a vital mission of improving lives through dedicated mental health care.
Overview:
As a licensed independent clinical psychologist, you will serve as a subject matter expert in mental health and substance use disorders, delivering comprehensive psychological assessments, evaluations, and treatments. Your role is crucial in managing mental health programs, providing direct patient care, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the well-being of detainees. Your expertise will help shape and oversee mental health initiatives, including crisis intervention, therapy, and program development, within a secure and supportive environment.
Pay Rate:
The hourly pay rate is $73.50, with an additional $11 paid for federal holidays, resulting in a blended rate of $76.44.
Required Skills:
Doctoral Degree in Psychology from an APA-accredited program Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in Arizona Minimum of one year of clinical practice at the independent level Proficiency in psychological testing, diagnosis, and treatment planning Strong communication skills, both oral and written Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and in a multicultural environment Knowledge of HIPAA, Privacy Act, and confidentiality regulations Competency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite Nice to
Have Skills:
Experience implementing mental health treatment programs or Modified Therapeutic Community models Background in correctional, detention, or residential healthcare settings Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish Experience providing telehealth or tele-behavioral health services
Preferred Education and Experience:
Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution At least one year of relevant clinical experience, preferably in detention or correctional environments Experience managing or developing mental health programs and services
Other Requirements:
