We center our clients at Evergreen, providing exceptional, professional, warm, and humanistic care. Each staff member is trauma-informed and possesses advanced training in trauma treatment modalities to serve clients presenting with single-incident traumas or early relational traumas. At Evergreen, we also center our staff by providing a comprehensive benefits package (more on that below), ongoing training and consultation, advanced education opportunities, and exceptionally responsive leadership and administrative support. Fully licensed clinicians also have the flexibility to build schedules that work for them, assuming a typical caseload of approximately 25 client sessions per week. We aim to create an environment where clinicians can do meaningful, sustainable work without feeling isolated or overwhelmed. We value authenticity, collaboration, warmth, and clinical integrity, and strive to build a practice culture that feels grounded, supportive, and genuinely human. About The Role We are currently seeking an EMDR-trained therapist who is eager to see a caseload of EMDR and talk therapy clients at our center in downtown Berkeley. While we strongly prefer an in-person clinical presence, limited hybrid flexibility may be considered for the right long-term fit. In your clinical role, you will largely work with moderate to high-functioning individuals with a broad range of presenting complaints who are primarily but not exclusively seeking EMDR. You should be willing and able to carry a caseload of 25 clients per week. You should be able to work sensitively with individuals who present with a wide range of sexual, gender, and identity preferences. In addition to providing high-quality clinical care to your caseload on an ongoing basis, you will complete the (relatively minimal but rigorously sound) documentation we require (treatment plans, SOAP notes, charting, discharge notes, etc.), conduct any necessary consult calls with prospective new clients assigned to your caseload, get in touch with lateral providers when and if needed, and you will have the opportunity to participate in monthly peer support groups, and/or access Evergreen Counseling's leadership team at any point for consultation and support. Like all roles at the center, this role will embody the values of
Evergreen Counseling:
professional excellence, warmth, and clinical rigor, and this role will join the rest of the team as we strive to create an inclusive environment for all of Evergreen's clients. About You You are a fully licensed LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, or Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D. or PsyD) licensed to practice in California. You've completed EMDR training through an EMDRIA-accredited program and have at least two to five years of post-graduate clinical experience, including experience actively practicing EMDR. You're a warm, grounded, and emotionally attuned clinician who values both excellent client care and meaningful connection with colleagues. You're looking for a practice where you can deepen your clinical work, feel supported as a therapist, and become part of a collaborative long-term clinical community. A typical full-time caseload at Evergreen is approximately 25 sessions per week. Our Benefits Evergreen Counseling offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your physical, emotional, and financial well-being. For full-time clinicians maintaining a typical caseload of approximately 25 client sessions per week, projected total compensation and benefits value generally ranges from approximately $100,000-$150,000 annually, depending on caseload, experience, and schedule preferences. Benefits include:
Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family 401(k) plan with a 4% match Paid sick time Long-term disability insurance Life insurance Continuing education stipend One month of unpaid time off annually A meaningful caseload of engaged, diverse, and motivated clients To Apply To apply, please email with the following: Cover letter, resume, and your responses to the following supplemental questions: Where did you first learn about this job opening? When did you complete your EMDR training(s) and what is your EMDRIA number? Can you give two examples that demonstrate your ability to use EMDR to work with more complex cases, such as when developmental trauma, higher levels of dissociation, or other co-occurring morbidities are at play? The population groups we see are adolescents (13-19) for EMDR or talk therapy, adults (20+) for EMDR or talk therapy, and couples or families. We prefer all clinicians to be willing and able to see all these populations. Are you willing and able to see all these populations? Do you have any experience working with first responders and/or military personnel? What is your preferred schedule? Please provide days and times. We request that all new clinicians schedule at least 4 sessions at 4 pm or later. Is that something you are open to?
