This position involves administering and scoring neuropsychological and psychological assessments under the supervision of a licensed clinical neuropsychologist or psychologist. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and an interest in brain-behavior relationships, cognitive functioning, and psychological assessment. This role provides valuable clinical experience for individuals pursuing graduate training or careers in psychology, neuropsychology, medicine, or related behavioral health fields. Candidates must be eligible for registration with the California Board of Psychology as a Psychological Testing Technician (PTT). Key Responsibilities Administer standardized neuropsychological and psychological assessments under licensed psychologist supervision Conduct testing primarily with adults including geriatric adults (some opportunities with children and adolescents) Score and organize test data accurately and efficiently Observe and document behavioral, emotional, and cognitive presentation during testing sessions Prepare testing materials and maintain assessment equipment and protocols Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and ethical guidelines Coordinate scheduling and communicate professionally with patients and their families Support clinic operations and maintain organized testing records
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Psychology or closely related behavioral science field Eligibility for registration with the California Board of Psychology as a Psychological Testing Technician (PTT) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to follow standardized testing procedures precisely Professional demeanor and ability to work with diverse clinical populations Proficiency with computers and data entry (experience with Q-Interactive a plus)
Preferred:
Previous experience in neuropsychological or psychological testing Experience working in medical, mental health, rehabilitation, or research settings Familiarity with commonly used neuropsychological instruments Experience with pediatric, adult, or geriatric populations Bilingual skills are highly valued Preferred Knowledge Areas Experience or familiarity with assessments in areas such as: Attention and executive functioning Learning and memory Intellectual and academic functioning Autism spectrum disorders ADHD Traumatic brain injury Dementia and aging-related cognitive concerns Emotional and personality functioning Skills & Competencies Strong observational and analytical abilities Accuracy in scoring and documentation Professionalism, empathy, and patience Ability to establish rapport with patients Excellent time management and multitasking skills Commitment to ethical and confidential clinical practice Benefits Paid sick time Continuing education and training opportunities Clinical mentorship and supervision Retirement plan options
