We strive to build a supportive community that prioritizes spiritual growth, bodily, mental, and physical health, and community well-being, celebrating our rich cultural heritage while addressing the unique challenges we face. Organization Overview The Khalsa Community Center, by Khalsa Foundation, is dedicated to serving the Punjabi Sikh community in the Fresno area by providing culturally connected and mentally sound support. It is the world's first Punjabi-Sikh oriented mental health service , which speaks to the cultural sensitivities of the community. Position Summary We are seeking a Punjabi-Speaking Behavioral Health Counselor to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide culturally sensitive mental health services to the Punjabi Sikh community, addressing issues such as depression, addiction, loneliness, family issues, and other mental health concerns.

This position is designed for a clinician who thrives on independence . You will have a high degree of professional freedom to manage your practice, outreach, and clinical approach, working independently under the supervision of the Center Manager.

Responsibilities Clinical Care:
Provide individual and group counseling to members of the Punjabi Sikh community. Conduct assessments and develop culturally tailored treatment plans.
Community Education & Outreach:
Serve as a subject matter expert by speaking at invited talks and conducting workshops. Educate the community on mental health through various mediums, potentially including video content and digital outreach.
Event Leadership:
Help organize, lead, and run community mental health events designed to reduce stigma and increase wellness awareness.
Collaboration:
Partner with other service providers and community organizations to ensure comprehensive support networks.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records.
Mission Advocacy:
Actively contribute to the mission of helping community members stay culturally connected and mentally sound.
Minimum Qualifications Licensure:
Active California license as an LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Doctorate in Psychology , or equivalent.
Language:
Must be fluent in Punjabi .
Cultural Expertise:
Deep knowledge of the cultural sensitivities, values, and traditions of the Punjabi Sikh community.
Self-Management:
Must be a self-starter who can work independently and take initiative in a professional, agile environment. Mission Alignment & Impact This position is vital to the Khalsa Community Center's mission. By providing culturally sensitive mental health services and leading community education efforts, you are helping the Punjabi Sikh community overcome unique challenges while celebrating their heritage. This role will have a significant, lasting impact on the mental well-being of community members in Fresno and beyond.

$85,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
