THE ROLE
Seneca's School Partnership Programs is hiring a School Therapist to guide students to success at Latitude Highschool in Oakland, CA . School Therapists are integrated into the school community where you will provide healing-centered individual and family therapy, case-management services and conduct mental health assessments. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with caregivers, teachers, counselors, and school leadership to ensure and celebrate the success of youth and families in a school setting.ABOUT THE UE LIGHT THE CHANGE PROGRAM
Seneca's Unconditional Education Light the Change Program partners with 8 charter schools in Oakland; including charter management networks Education for Change, Lighthouse Community Public Schools, and Envision Academy. Our goal is to provide essential mental health services to youth in grades TK - 12th in their neighborhood. We provide targeted early interventions to help students overcome behavioral and emotional challenges while minimizing referrals to a more restrictive school environment. Responsibilities Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and program leadership Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management for a caseload of school-referred students Engage caregivers and school staff in the treatment process with regular discussions on student progress and needs Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage Provide consultation and/or coaching to school staff around student needs and risk management rooted in a healing centered approach Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billing Communicate effectively with families and all others involved in the daily life of the student, including other Seneca programs or outside agencies Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training This may include intervening with the students' behavioral program through physical management Qualifications Education/Experience requirements: Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS required Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is preferred Reliable transportation to and from the school site and other occasional meeting locations TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements Schedule School based schedule:Full-time:
Hiring for Summer 2026, start date on July 6th, 2026 Monday toFriday:
8:00 am - 4:30 pm 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days Benefits Starting at $73,212- $87,212 per year Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications $2000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees!
