JOB TITLE

- School Psychologist Intern

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

: The School psychologist intern works with a supervising psychologist and is responsible for the identification, placement and follow-up of students referred for special education assessment at a specific school site. The school psychologist intern will also provide consultation to teachers and counseling of special education students under the supervision of supervising psychologist.

EDUCATION

Must meet the requirements for candidacy for Pupil Personnel Service Credential in School Psychology from an accredited institution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Meet requirements for a psychologist internship through an accredited institution.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administer cognitive, adaptive, social-emotional, visual motor, auditory and academic tests.
• Observe and conduct alternative assessments, complete and interpret the results in writing.
• Participate and chair IEP meetings.
• Participate in SST meetings.
• Conduct three-year evaluations, write reports, and conduct the IEP meetings.
• Observe students in a variety of settings.
• Consult with teachers, administrators, parents and community resources regarding student in special education as well as student in regular education.
• Observe and conduct a functional behavior assessment or other behavior intervention.
• Participate in a school program, such as crisis intervention team, develop 504 accommodations, and refer to outside agencies.

WORK YEAR

Not to exceed 184 days.
