Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a vital role supporting elementary students' success and wellbeing in a collaborative school environment near Colorado Springs, CO. This contract opportunity is perfect for skilled school psychologists passionate about working at the elementary level and impacting diverse learners. You'll play an essential part in guiding special education teams, collaborating with educators and families, and ensuring students receive the services they need to thrive.

37.5 hours per week
Caseload:
Approximately 40 students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) per school, focusing on consultation and evaluation rather than direct therapy
Age Group:
Elementary School Qualifications:
Valid school psychologist certification or licensure, or the eligibility to obtain one within the state Previous experience in school psychology, preferably with elementary-aged children Strong understanding of the IEP process and special education compliance Expertise in conducting educational and psychological assessments Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and consultation skills Commitment to ethical practice and continuous professional development
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with special education teams and classroom educators Conduct psychoeducational evaluations and share findings to inform IEP teams Support teachers, counselors, and administrators with best practices in student accommodations and interventions Consult with families and staff regarding student progress and individualized services Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, contributing insights for student-centered planning Monitor and help maintain documentation in compliance with regulations This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while partnering with dedicated professionals.
