Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract role as a School Psychologist supporting diverse student needs in an educational environment near West Hartford, CT. This position allows you to make a tangible impact by collaborating with staff, students, and families, using your expertise to foster healthy emotional and educational growth.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Connecticut School Psychologist certification (or eligibility to obtain) Graduate degree (Master's or higher) in School Psychology from an accredited program Proven experience in K-12 settings preferred Exceptional assessment, counseling, and consultation skills Strong knowledge of IEP process, special education law, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) Flexible, organized, and adept at managing varied caseloads
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and identify academic, emotional, and behavioral needs through observation and evidence-based tools Conduct individual and group counseling sessions Consult with teachers, staff, and families to develop effective behavioral and academic interventions Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility determinations, and crisis intervention as needed Develop actionable recommendations and implement preventive mental health services Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to state and federal guidelines
