Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A School Psychologist position is available in Des Moines, IA, offering a dynamic opportunity to support students' mental health and educational success within a school setting. This role involves collaboration with educators, parents, and other professionals to assess and address students' psychological and learning needs, contributing to a positive and supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments to identify students' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral needs. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies. Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and behavioral concerns. Provide counseling and support services to students facing social, emotional, or academic challenges. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to creating a safe and inclusive school environment. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Travel to multiple school locations as necessary to fulfill job duties.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Appropriate state licensure or certification for school psychology. Experience conducting psychological assessments and developing IEPs. Strong knowledge of child development, learning disabilities, and behavioral interventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders. Flexibility and willingness to travel between school sites. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
