SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST OPENING
Permanent School Psychology position open on the FJSPED School Psychology team. FJSPED serves 22 districts in Franklin and Jefferson Counties in beautiful Southern Illinois. School Psychologists at FJSPED work collaboratively with school staff and parents to assess student skills, develop and implement interventions, and improve multi-tiered systems of support for struggling students from ages pre-k to 21. School Psychologists consult with school staff on behavior, academic, and social emotional interventions and data collection. The School Psychology team participates in a multitude of learning opportunities and professional development throughout each school year, often including attending NASP Conferences, ISPA Conferences, Special Education Law workshops, Behavior Modification workshops, Trauma workshops, and more. Opportunity to join the Behavior Team exists.
  • Illinois School Psychology Professional Educator License or coursework towards license is required.

School Psychology Internship:
School Psychology Interns at FJSPED gain knowledge and independence working collaboratively with school staff and parents to support students with disabilities. Essential duties of a School Psychologist Intern include assessment, intervention, consultation, collaboration and data-based decision-making. Interns work within multi-tiered systems of support leading to a continuum of services for students. Interns gain valuable real world experience in collaboration with experienced School Psychologists and other educational experts in a concerted effort to provide students the services they need to thrive, utilizing culturally competent approaches to service provision and engaging in ethical professional practice.
