Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic intermediate school environment near Chicago, IL, where your expertise as a School Psychologist will be valued and impactful. This contract role spans the 2026/2027 academic year, serving grades 3 through 5 in a collaborative, onsite setting. You will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and emotional growth while also taking on Local Education Agency (LEA) responsibilities. Your daily hours will be from 8:20 AM to 3:35 PM, allowing you to engage directly with students, educators, and families during crucial school hours.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification or licensure as a School Psychologist Previous experience working with elementary or intermediate grade levels (3-5 preferred) Strong understanding of psychological assessment, counseling techniques, and educational planning Familiarity with LEA responsibilities and the special education process Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Ability to perform responsibilities onsite in a school-based environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments and provide data-driven recommendations to guide support strategies for students in grades 3-5 Serve as an integral part of the IEP team, acting in the LEA role as needed Consult with teachers, administrators, and parents to address the academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of students Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of interventions and educational plans Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to foster a positive, inclusive school climate Be part of a committed school community where your insights and dedication will help shape students' educational experiences.
