Our top-tier benefits and great retirement packages can help you build a rewarding career and lasting future with the State of Illinois.Position Overview The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Clinical Psychologist located in Kankakee, Illinois to serve as lead clinician at the State Operated Developmental Centers (SODCs), serving individuals with intellectual disabilities. Maintains a caseload and monitors and directs the handling of more complex cases. Provides leadership to psychology staff in the development and planning for behavior intervention plans. Administers psychological tests and establishes and documents diagnostic classifications. Serves as a member of Clinical Administrative Review Team (CART), provides technical assistance to community providers and SODCs. Provides initial and refresher trainings regarding learning and behavior issues/resolutions to new staff. Chairs the BSC and serves as a member of a treatment team. Aids other SODCs in psychological testing/services by reviewing and providing guidance for psychological testing. Testifies in court and signs certificates of admission; assesses individuals to determine mental capacity upon admission. Travels in the performance of duties.
Essential Functions Serves as a Clinical Psychologist and lead clinician at the SODCs, serving individuals with intellectual disabilities. Participates in the SODC training programs through teaching, training, and seminars. Develops behavior intervention plans for individuals who exhibit maladaptive behavior. Chairs the BSC at SODCs as needed and serves as a member of a treatment team. Travels to SODCs for psychological testing/services. Serves on a variety of committees, both internal and statewide committees. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires current license as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to physically restrain individuals as necessary to prevent injury to individual or others. Requires the ability to acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate. Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends, and holidays. Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers. Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.
