at Department of Corrections in Lincoln, Illinois, United States Job Description Position Overview Logan Correctional Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Mental Health Authority. This position directs professional care staff in providing services within the Mental Health program and implements and establishes policies and procedures for the Mental Health program in the Health Care Unit. Additionally, the person selected for this position will make sure mental health programs are in compliance with standards, rules and directives as set out by IDOC . Logan Correctional Center is an adult female correctional facility located in central Illinois. Essential Functions Serves as full-line supervisor. Reviews and coordinates housing inspection for confined areas of the institution. Coordinates work and caseloads of Mental Health staff. Certifies that mental health programs are in compliance with standards, rules, and directives. Receives clinical oversight from the Central Region Mental Health Administrator. Uses a computer and programs contained therein to gather data for the purpose of formulating reports, responding to internal and external queries, and to effectively communicate policy and procedural practice and changes to affected staff. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires a doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited graduate program in Psychology, supplemented by two (2) years of supervised experience in Health Services of which at least one (1) year is post-doctoral and one (1) year in an organized Health Service Program. Requires licensure as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Preferred Qualifications Prefers three (3) years of experience applying advanced knowledge of theories and assumptions underlying the field of psychology in an adult correctional facility. Prefers two (2) years of experience providing clinical supervision in areas related to behavioral health to accomplish Agency goals and objectives. Prefers at least three (3) years of experience conducting and participating in quality assurance processes. Prefers at least three (3) years of experience working with multidisciplinary treatment teams. Prefers at least two (2) years of experience using a variety of computer software products to gather data for the purpose of formulating reports, responding to internal and external queries, and to effectively communicate policy and procedural practices and changes. Prefers at least two (2) years of experience providing fair, principled, and decisive leadership that is consistent with policies. Conditions of Employment Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate. Required to maintain licensure as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation while in this position. Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This requires the ability to work evenings and weekends. This also requires the ability to work in a 24 hour ‘on call’ capacity. Requires ability to pass the

background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited. This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings. Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
