Position Overview Pontiac Correctional Center is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Psychologist Administrator. This position directs professional care staff in providing services within the Mental Health program and implements and establishes policies and procedures for the Mental Health program in the Health Care Unit. Additionally, the person selected for this position will make sure mental health programs are in compliance with standards, rules and directives as set out by IDOC. Pontiac Correctional Center is an adult male correctional facility located in northern Illinois. Essential Functions Serves as full-line supervisor. Develops, organizes and manages the mental health services programs including all psychological and psychiatric services. Serves as facility Crisis Team Leader. Develops proposals, formulates local policies and procedures for the Mental Health Department based on new and/or revised Departmental Rules, compliance standards and administrative/institutional rules and directives. Receives clinical oversight from the Regional Mental Health Administrator. Serves on various committees to verify program coordination and proper care of individuals in custody is explained clearly. Develops and maintains a computer database system to track all mental health services, to allow for statistical reporting of services. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires a doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited graduate program in Psychology, supplemented by two (2) years of supervised experience in Health Services of which at least one (1) year is post-doctoral and one (1) year in an organized Health Service Program. Requires licensure as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Preferred Qualifications Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience applying advanced knowledge of theories and assumptions underlying the field of psychology to individuals in custody. Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience providing supervision in areas related to behavioral health. Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience developing and managing a mental health services program. Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience serving as a Crisis Team Leader. Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience developing and formulating proposals, policies and procedures for Mental Health Services program. Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience designing and implementing treatment programs for individuals in custody with special needs. Conditions of Employment Requires ability to pass the
IDOC/IDJJ
background check. Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited. Required to maintain a current, active license as a Clinical Psychologist by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulations. Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
