The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and emotional well-being of students, providing assessments, interventions, and counseling services. This position requires a strong understanding of developmental disabilities, behavioral health, and special education practices to effectively address the diverse needs of students. Responsibilities Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and social development. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support students' mental health and behavioral challenges. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create effective safety plans and behavior management strategies. Offer guidance on social work practices related to student welfare and developmental disabilities. Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs and develop comprehensive support strategies. Maintain accurate records of student assessments, interventions, and progress. Qualifications Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist. Experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of special education laws and practices. Familiarity with behavioral health principles and techniques for managing behavior in school settings. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with staff, parents, and students. Ability to develop safety plans tailored to individual student needs.
