COUNSELING

(SE-COUN-IUSEA) Department Information The Indiana University (IU) Southeast office of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers mental health services for all students (part or full time) at no fee. Our counselors are trained and have specific skills related to working with college students. Our staff includes 2 psychologists and a licensed clinical social worker, as well as masters level and doctoral level graduate clinicians. For more information, visit our website. Job Summary Provides direct clinical service including evaluation and testing to identify cognitive difficulties that may impede the patient's normal functions. Provides individual, group, and relationship counseling. Provides crisis intervention and online counseling. Documents clinical activities according to standards, procedures, and policies. Provides individual clinical supervision to counselors/psychologists in training. Facilitates group case consultation for counselors/psychologists in training. Provides direct observation and video review of clinical sessions to provide feedback. Reviews and co-signs all clinical documentation for supervised positions. Participates in community outreach programs regarding mental health. Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required Ph.D. in psychology from an American Psychological Association's (APA) accredited program.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required 1 year of post-doctoral clinical service under supervision of a licensed psychologist. Completion of a pre-doctoral internship that meets licensure standards for the State of Indiana.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES

Required Licensed Psychologist must be licensed in the State of Indiana or be eligible for licensure within 180 Days of hire. SKILLS Required Proficient communication skills. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients.
