Job Description

Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract A school district in Gretna, LA is seeking a dedicated School Psychologist for a contract position. This role plays a critical part in supporting student success by addressing learning, behavioral, and emotional needs within the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate students' cognitive, emotional, and social development. Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies. Provide counseling and support services to students facing academic, behavioral, or mental health challenges. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and recommend appropriate accommodations. Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with school policies and state regulations.
Qualifications:
Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field. Valid state certification or licensure as a School Psychologist. Experience conducting psychoeducational assessments in school settings. Strong knowledge of special education laws and psychological testing methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff.
