Job Description

This psychologist position is for program at Andover High school that supports students with significant mental health challenges (i.e. anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation). This staff will work alongside a SPED teacher assigned to the program, as well as working in close partnership with social work, nursing, and guidance staff. Desirable candidates will have experience working with adolescents who struggle with internalizing mental health symptoms, who require support managing academic stress and general student responsibilities. Consultation for teachers regarding student needs. Consultation for teachers regarding instructional strategies for this student population. Provision of specialized instruction for social and emotional challenges, including evidence-based interventions. Management of collateral contacts (i.e, outpatient clinical treatment providers) and family communication. Psychoeducational assessment (administration, report writing, data analysis, dissemination of results). Participation on
AHS MTSS
teams, supporting mental and behavioral health data collection and analysis. Participation on IEP meetings and advising the development of IEP goals. Massachusetts DESE School Psychologist Certification NCSP credential preferred Experience in adapting materials/curriculum for special needs students Ability to consult with general education teachers regarding learning needs of special education students Experience in designing and implementing behavioral management programs Andover Public Schools (APS) seeks candidates who embody our ethos, which includes valuing the identities of all students, high expectations for all students, teaching excellence, collaboration, innovation, respect, and responsibility.
