Job Description

Qualifications:
I. A masters degree plus two or more years additional graduate work in education and psychology.

II. A valid certificate to practice as a school psychologist.

Reports to:
Director of Special Education and School PrincipalSupervises:
Interns Performance responsibilities: 1. Conduct individual psycho-educational and academic evaluations for referred school district students 2. Chair annual and re-evaluation meetings at the Junior-Senior High School and maintain documentation 3. Interpret psycho-educational and academic evaluation findings and communicate recommendations at Team meetings4. Consult and collaborate with parents, school staff, and outside personnel regarding mental health, behavioral and education concerns, including prevention-oriented approaches5. Serve as a resource to school personnel regarding evaluation instruments and techniques6. Review all students IEP with Departmental Program Specialist7. Participate in behavioral intervention planning, including functional behavioral assessments, behavioral intervention plans, and manifestation determinations as required by IDEA8. Provide crisis intervention as needed9. Refer students who require counseling to either in-house staff or outside counselors10. Oversee 504 placements, evaluations, and follow-up 11. Share information with other staff from workshops on assessment,educational programming or other research findings 12 Attend staff, professional and interagency meetings13. Works cooperatively with community agencies involved with students14. Provide consultation to parents15. Maintain confidentiality of students and/or staff16. Other duties as assigned by the special education director and/or principalTerms of employment: School year as determined by teacher contract
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the evaluation procedure used by the Holbrook Public Schools.
